coming soon to a theater near you : the trial of saddam

Saddam disputes US version of his capture
Brunei Press Sdn Bhd.

CAIRO (dpa)december 27, 2004 - A lawyer for Saddam Hussein has disputed the US version of how the former Iraqi dictator was captured a year ago, reports said Sunday.

In an interview with the weekly al-Osbou magazine to appear Monday, Saddam's lawyer Khalil al-Duleimi said that the toppled dictator had described the US account of his capture as "a silly fabricated cowboy movie."

Saddam was captured on December 13, 2003. US forces said the deposed leader was found hiding in a hole in the ground near a farmhouse in al-Dour, south of his hometown Tikrit.

Al-Duleimi, who had a four-and-a-half hour meeting with Saddam last week in an unidentified location, quoted the former president as saying he was at a friend's house praying just before sunset when US soldiers surrounded him.

"I found the Americans around me and I did not have a back-up force. My weapon was far from me. I was arrested and terribly tortured in the first two days. If I knew they were near I would have fought them to death," al-Duleimi quoted Saddam as saying.

Saddam also reportedly urged Iraqis to boycott the upcoming elections and accused Iran of being responsible for the 1988 chemical attack on the Kurdish town of Halabja which claimed thousands of lives.

Prior to the US invasion, US officials offered to lift sanctions against Iraq if Saddam recognised Israel, al-Duleimi reported Saddam as saying.

"There were many offers but they do not know Saddam Hussein and do not know the honest Iraqi who will only live in honour," Saddam reportedly said.

The former dictator also "praised the Iraqi resistance" and said that those running the resistance in Fallujah were former Iraqi army officers "who received high military training."

"What is happening now is not a coincidence or a spontaneous reaction. It was planned before the invasion," al-Duleimi quoted Saddam as saying.

Why do ABC NBC CBS CNN and FOX not want exit poll data released to congressman Conyer's judicial committee investigating 2004 election fraud ?

TV Networks Officially Refuse to Release Exit Poll Raw Data; Mainstream media finally displays true colors
by Gary Beckwith

December 22, 2004

For those watching the growing body of evidence concerning election fraud in our past presidential election, one question has remained: Why don't we hear about this on the evening news?

As of yet it's been hard to explain why the controversies in Ukraine make the headlines, but when similar problems are discovered at home, you have to scour the Internet to find the information.
It certainly isn't for lack of events on which to report. Members of The House Judiciary Committee have been meeting regularly reviewing evidence of systematic voter suppression and voting machine tampering. A coalition of lawyers have filed a lawsuit against the Bush campaign citing deliberate manipulation of votes. Sworn testimony and signed affidavits have implicated companies, individuals, and a Florida congressman.

This developing story could eventually turn out to be more explosive than Watergate. But it's rarely mentioned on the major networks, and when it is, there's almost always a chiding remark about the "conspiracy nuts" and obscure "internet bloggers" who are behind it all.

The truth is, it's not just conspiracy nuts, or bloggers, or even just Democratic supporters of Kerry. It's a growing number of people who want to know what really happened on Novermber 2nd. It's teachers, doctors, lawyers, all kinds of people who care about their Democracy just as much as the people in Ukraine do. And a recent survey showed that even without the media coverage, 20% of Americans believe the election was stolen.

For these people it's been a difficult task to spread the word, and to tell the uninformed about the election problems. That's because for many, if it's not on the evening news, it isn't happening. And as soon as you start telling someone about it, their first question is always, "Why aren't I hearing about this on the news?".

That's a question we'd all like to see answered.

Until now, we've only been able to speculate. Perhaps the media is just tired of a long drawn out election season. Perhaps reporters don't want to "stick their neck out" until more evidence is uncovered. Perhaps the reporters just haven't seen the evidence that already exists. And one possibility of many is that the mainstream media has been purposely withholding this story from the American people. Emails have floated around, purportedly written by reporters, saying that they've been instructed not to write about the problems with the election or they'll lose their job.

It's hard to believe that the media would cover up something like this, considering that many reporters probably voted for Kerry and would want the people to know if the election was stolen. But there's already enough of a story that it should be getting attention - the Congressional hearings, lawsuits filed, and sworn testimony are newsworthy of themselves, regardless of their outcomes. The lack of coverage of already existing events forces us to wonder why.

Attempts to get an explanation from the media have been met with cold and evasive responses. Local media outlets say it's not their duty to report the national news. National media people say there's not enough evidence yet, and they're waiting to see how it pans out before they give it the spotlight. This begs the question: Do we wait until the Superbowl is over to report on it? Did they wait until the OJ trial was over to report on it?

But as the story develops, no one has been able to explain why the media is avoiding it like the plague.

Until today.

Yesterday Representative John Conyers called their bluff. He's the one leading the investigation in the House of Representatives Judiciary Committee. After weeks of investigation he's become more and more interested in seeing the raw data of the exit polls. Exit polls were a red flag in Ukraine, and many statistical experts have used the exit polls from our election to demonstrate a high likelihood that there was some funny business on November 2nd.

Like most people trying to get to the bottom of the matter, Mr. Conyers first came to the realization that the exit poll data has mysteriously not been released yet. We only have the preliminary exit poll data, which showed Kerry winning Ohio by several points. But about half way through election day, the networks started "mixing in" the "real" numbers with the exit poll data, and from that point on, the raw exit poll data has been locked up.

So, Conyers wrote to Warren Mitofsky, who owns the exit poll data, asking for the complete raw data, without the "real" numbers mixed in. Mitofsky balked, saying that the TV Networks actually own it and he was not able to release it without their permission. Conyers then took his inquiry to the leaders of ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, and Fox.

And they promptly laid an egg. Through a spokesperson who spoke on behalf of all the media companies together, they said they are still analyzing the data and don't want to release it until they're done.

The egg they laid is frustrating for those who want to know the truth and want to see the raw exit poll numbers. But it does answer one question for us once and for all. It finally shows us that the media is not avoiding the election controversy because they're tired of the election, or they want more evidence. They are purposefully preventing the information from getting out and they are hiding the information they have.

Any objective investigator, or any concerned citizen for that matter, simply cannot accept their answer to Conyers. The media has had over 6 weeks to "analyze" the exit polls and releasing the numbers would not prevent them from continuing their analysis in any way.

The data is just that - raw data. By itself it is not obscured by "analysis." The networks can evaluate and analyze it all they want, but they should also give others a chance to look at the same numbers and draw their own conclusions. There is absolutely no precedent or moral ground for withholding this information from the American public. The bottom line is that raw data does not need to be analyzed. Conyers and the American people are not asking for the analysis. We're asking for the data.

We're not talking about proprietary trade secrets, or a "secret source" that they're trying to protect. We're talking about information about us, the American people who voted on Election Day. It's like having your doctor refuse to let you see your own medical records.

The media is supposed to report the facts, whatever they are, not withhold them. When the media stops reporting and starts withholding, it ceases to be the media.

While it's frustrating that we still can't see the exit polls, let's thank the media for at least resolving one thing for us today. Now we know why we don't see stories about the election on the evening news. Their refusal to release the exit polls shows us categorically that there is a concerted effort on behalf of the major media outlets to consciously prevent the information from getting out. It's not simple oversight, and it's not because they don't think it's newsworthy. Now we know. They are withholding information from us.

Now that that's been resolved, we can move on to the next question: What are they hiding, and why?

the mysterious cause of death of palestinian authority president yasser arafat...old age ...aids ...or poison ?

...i had read a curious account from supposedly , a woman journalist with a hyphenated name that seemed like it was that of a persian woman married to a european jewish man .

basically in her article she was saying that arafat was gay , that he was recorded by romanian intelligence agents while having orgies with his body guards during the time he was isolated by the israeli army and surrounded in the ruined presidential coumpound . she asserted that he was married for appearances sake only and died of aids ...

if i can find it again , i'll post it , but in the meantime , with the revelations of poison being involved in the mysterious near death and horrible mutilation of the ukrainian presidential candidate viktor yushenko , i thought this might be of interest ...

...the mysterious cause of the death of palestinian authority president yasser arafat ...old age ...aids...or poison???

Arafat cabinet chief says he knows when leader was poisoned

Yasser Arafat was poisoned over a year ago when he received a delegation of supposed supporters in his Ramallah compound, the late Palestinian leader's cabinet secretary was quoted as saying.

"Something strange happened to Arafat around a year ago. It was on September 25, 2003...," Ahmed Abdelrahman told the London-based Al-Hayat newspaper.

"The president shook hands with around 30 people before leaving to vomit. It was from that moment that the president's health started slowly deteriorating," he explained Monday.

Since Arafat died in a French hospital of a mystery illness on November 11, several leading Palestinian officials have suggested the veteran leader had been poisoned, although French doctors have insisted there was no medical basis for such allegations.

Two weeks before the visit mentioned by Abdelrahman, the Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon's cabinet had taken a decision to "remove" Arafat from his Ramallah compound, although without specifying by what means.

The threat, Israel's most explicit at the time, had prompted expressions of support for Arafat, who also received the visit of several delegations.

"Arafat shook hands with people, who had come to express solidarity with him in his confinement. They were a mixture of Palestinians, foreigners and Israelis," Arafat's former cabinet secretary recalled.

"'Could it be that they got to me?', Arafat asked himself. He also said: 'Is it possible that 10 doctors can't find out what I'm suffering from?'".

"The president was exposed to something, and I'm inclined to believe it was maybe gas or something else. I don't know about all the types of poisons, but there are some 700 that are unknown," Abdelrahman said.

On September 25, Arafat received a visit from a group of cyclists from around the world on a peace mission as well as from a group of activists accompanying the parents of a US peace activist who had died six months earlier crushed by an Israeli bulldozer in the southern Gaza Strip.

"The last time he became ill, on October 12, 2004, he had the same symptoms: vomiting, refusal to eat and all the symptoms of flu without a flu," Abdelrahman told Al-Hayat.

The cabinet secretary, who recorded the evolution of Arafat's health in his diary, said red rashes appeared on his skin, the same ones which were visible on his face before he was evacuated to France for treatment this year.

Two gunshot wounds to the head...Suicide or "Arkancide" ?

Only In Arkansas: Webb 'Double Gunshot Wounds' Explanation Defies Belief

alex Jones : Prison Planet | December 18 2004
http://www.prisonplanet.com/articles/december2004/181204defiesbelief.htm

We will simply not let the issue drop. How on earth can somebody have two different gunshot wounds and their cause of death still be passed off as suicide?

Do the coroner and the police who made this assertion for the death of Gary Webb think we were born yesterday?

Even if you are using blanks, the sheer pressure of the explosion is enough to kill you at close range if not completely knock you out.

WhatReallyHappened.com posted a graphic video showing the public suicide of a man who had been convicted on corruption charges. Take a look at the video. Did that guy look like he was in any fit state to pick up the gun again and give himself another blast?

We have uncovered an article from a case in Grand Rapids in 2001 where a woman was found dead in her bedroom. Her husband told the police he had discovered her dead body and that she had committed suicide.

"David Duyst called 911 and later told detectives he was in another room when his wife shot herself, sheriff’s officials said. He also told them he removed the gun from her hand. Deputies found it lying on the bed."

For five months the suicide explanation was largely accepted until the coroner came across an overlooked fact. The woman, Sandra Anne Duyst, had two gunshot wounds in her head.

Kent County Detective Sgt. Chet Bush made the following comment,

“I had a lot of problems with someone shooting themselves in the head twice. “We were suspicious at that point. We wanted more evidence, and it takes time to do that.”

After blood splash and DNA tests the verdict was changed to homicide. Her husband had taken out a $50,000 life insurance policy out on her and was having an affair. He had killed her.

Here we have detectives and coroners stating the obvious. Someone with TWO gunshot wounds to the head could not have committed suicide.

The sheer brazen gall of the Sacramento County Coroner's Office to state, "It's unusual in a suicide case to have two shots, but it has been done in the past, and it is in fact a distinct possibility," is disgusting.

Yes it's been done in the past on many occasions, all of which happen to have taken place in Arkansas!

The many deaths of prominent political figures linked to Bill Clinton's scandals in the 90's and how their obvious murders were always ruled as 'accident' or 'suicide' became known as 'Arkancide' because Clinton's favourite corner, Fahmy Malak, helped him cover up every case.

Malak once ruled that a decapitated man had died of carbon monoxide poisoning.

We refuse to let this travesty lie and will continue to push for a full autopsy, blood splash analysis and whatever else it takes to uncover what Gary Webb devoted his life to - uncovering the truth.

the questionable "suicide" of gary webb

Was Gary Webb murdered? was he continuing his investigation into CIA drug smuggling ? Did he report being followed and twice surprising "burglars" in his house before his death...Was he killed by a shotgun blast to the face or two .38 wounds to the head ? ... and why would there be any confusion by professionals between the two vastly different type of weapon wounds? Posted by Hello

Questions emerging in the alleged "suicide" of Gary Webb

Evidence Begins To Indicate Gary Webb Was Murdered
Webb Spoke Of Death Threats, 'Government People' Around His Home

Alex Jones & Paul Joseph Watson | Updated December 15 2004

UPDATE: Coroner: Gary Webb's Death Confirmed as Suicide

First it was multiple gunshot wounds, then it was just one and now it's multiple again. Would somebody stealing your motorcycle really drive you over the edge?

UPDATE: Do you really think someone can shoot themself in the face twice? How stupid do they think we are? (WARNING EXTREMELY GRAPHIC)

Credible sources who were close to Gary Webb have stated that he was receiving death threats, being regularly followed, and that he was concerned about strange individuals who were seen on multiple occasions breaking into and leaving his house before his apparent 'suicide' on Friday morning.

Webb, a Pullitzer prize winning journalist, exposed CIA drug trafficking operations in a series of books and reports for the San Jose Mercury News. He was found dead on Friday morning in what the police said was an apparent suicide.

Webb's 1996 series in the Mercury News alleged that Nicaraguan drug traffickers had sold tons of crack cocaine in Los Angeles and funneled millions of dollars in profits to the CIA-supported Nicaraguan Contras during the 1980s.

Today's Alex Jones Show, aired on the GCN radio network featured interviews with Chico Brown and Cele Castillo. Castillo is author of "Powder Burns", Cocaine, Contras & The Drug Connection. A retired DEA agent, Castillo personally witnessed CIA drug smuggling operations. Chico Brown, was former business parter and co-defendent with 'Freeway' Ricky Ross, the biggest drug dealer on the west coast supplied by the CIA.

Ricky Ross, one of Gary Webb's primary sources had spoken to Gary in the days before his death. Gary told Ricky that he had seen men scaling down the pipes outside his home and that they were obviously not burglars but 'government people'. Gary also told Ricky that he had been receiving death threats and was being regularly followed. It was also mentioned that Gary was working on a new story concerning the CIA and drug trafficking.

Gary described the men around his home as 'professionals' who jumped from his balcony and ran away when Gary confronted them

Alex jones, while working with documentary film maker Kevin Booth has interviewed ricky ross many times from his federal jail cell in north texas

On Monday night Kevin Booth broke the news to Ricky Ross during Ricky’s once a week call that he makes to Kevin.

The tape of that conversation which is edited to omit personal comments, is available by clicking here.

Original Associated Press reports stated that Webb had died of gunshot wounds (plural) to the face. This was later changed to 'single gunshot wound' when people began to question how or why a man would shoot himself in the face twice. This represents a concentrated effort to cover up the nature of Webb's death. There have also been reports that the coroner on the scene had originally reported 'multiple gunshot wounds' but later changed his story.

Newspapers also reported the fact that Webb's body was found by removal men without questioning why a man who was about to commit suicide would plan a house move.

The Miami Herald and LA Times continue to attack Webb even after his death in their obituariues published yesterday. Both claimed that his work was discredited despite the fact that Webb was vindicated by congressional investigations.

Former DEA agent Cele Castillo concurs that Webb was murdered and that in such a 'revenge hit' situation it was common in his experience that the murderers would have likely talked to Webb at length about how and why they were about to kill him.

In a death of this nature a homicide investigation would be par for the course but the media is complicit in bleating like well-behaved sheep to the acceptance that this was a suicide.

Interview of Kevin Booth and Cele Castillo
Alex Jones Radio Show
Dec. 14, 2004

AJ: Kevin Booth is a documentary filmmaker. He has been working for the last year on a film entitled, “The American Drug War.” And the website is theamericandrugwar.com. The film will be coming out in about a year. He’s interviewed basically everybody under the sun concerning the history of the drug war, who really controls the drug trade, and I am the narrator of the film and the host of it. And I have been involved in some interviews with Ricky Ross, known as “Freeway” Ricky Ross,” the biggest public drug dealer – that is, the biggest known drug dealer – in West Coast history, on some days, $25 million worth of dealing going on – that linked directly back to the CIA. He was one of the main sources for Gary Webb, Pulitzer prize winning author of the book, “Dark Alliance” – CIA Drug Series, in the San Jose Mercury News. And then, of course, he wrote the best selling book, “Dark Alliance.”

He was shot-gunned in the face – something that the major newspapers aren’t reporting. But I have this from direct sources in Sacramento and some of Gary’s best friends and associates. It’s just unbelievable. He was shot-gunned in the face. And then movers who were coming to the house found a note on the door saying “Don’t Come in, Call 911, Call an Ambulance.”

Yesterday, Kevin called me and we’ve interviewed Ricky in the past. He said Ricky is scheduled to call me tonight at 10:30 – because you can’t call him at the Federal Prison he’s in. They’ve moved him there from Victorville in Southern California, to the Panhandle of Texas, North Texas, where they do not let the media in to interview Mr. Ross. So we’ve been doing it over the telephone. Kevin Booth was able to get the call last night and had the unfortunate job of breaking the news to “Freeway” Ricky Ross that Gary Webb had died from gunshot wounds to the head, to the face in very questionable circumstances. And now Kevin can reveal to us what Gary Webb, via telephone, had recently told “Freeway” Ricky Ross. Kevin Booth?

KB: Hey Alex.

AJ: We’ve got about 3 minutes before we hit the break. Just tell folks basically who “Freeway” Ricky is and what happened in the conversation last night.

KB: Like you said, Ricky Ross was known as the biggest crack dealer in West Coast history. The name “Freeway” came from the fact that he was buying up so much real estate along the harbor freeway in Los Angeles. And when he finally got put away the second time, he didn’t know that the CIA was behind allowing him to become so big. It’s not like CIA agents were supplying him with cocaine. It’s more like he just couldn’t believe he never got caught and he couldn’t believe how low the prices were. He couldn’t believe how easy it all was to ….

AJ: In the Dark Alliance series, in talking to Ricky, they had a go-between but it was Contras directly selling him and then the Contras flying back. It was all part of the CIA operation.

KB: Right, it was all these cartels. So, like you said, he was in the Victorville prison, right above Los Angeles there and the last time he spoke to Gary, which wasn’t that long ago, he told me that Gary was still working on the story. This was the kind of thing that Gary was never going to give up on because Gary felt like he could just keep going with this forever and uncover more and more people and exposing more names. But he did tell me that Gary knew he was being followed. Every time he drove some where, there were always cars following him around. He said he knew it was government people. Several times he came home to his apartment, his two-story apartment, late at night, and a guy would come shimmying down a drainage pipe off of his balcony. You could tell he wasn’t a burglar. It was obviously somebody probably in his apartment rummaging around looking at documents or looking at his computer.

AJ: And we talked off air and he was described as kind of a Special Forces type, you know really fast going down the pipe.

KB: Yeah, definitely, the whole suicide angle of the story, it’s kind of like they did stuff to kind of freak him out, to intimidate him, to push him to actually being depressed. But everybody I’ve spoken to, Ricky included, said there’s no way that this guy would have taken his life – that he enjoyed life, he loved his kids. He was excited about the future. And people of South Central LA thought of Gary Webb as a God-send. He was…..

AJ: We’ll be right back, Kevin, we’ve got to break. Stay with us.

BREAK

AJ: Coming up in a few minutes, we’ll be talking to Cele Castillo, the top DEA agent in Central and South America, who was an eye witness to massive drug deals by the CIA, by the Contras, and another one of Gary Webb’s sources. The Pulitzer Prize winning author of the Dark Alliance series in the San Jose Mercury News and then wrote the best selling book, “Dark Alliance – CIA Drug Trafficking.” And the new developments, Kevin Booth, who again has been interviewing and talked to him last night – I’ve interviewed him for the film as well – talking to “Freeway” Ricky Ross, who was the person who was supplied with CIA cocaine and the biggest known drug dealer in West Coast history. Tens of millions of dollars a day going on for years and was absolutely untouchable - one of the major sources for the Dark Alliance piece. Kevin broke the news to “Freeway Ricky”, Ricky Ross, last night. And describe for us Kevin before we get back into the people who were rummaging through and up on his balcony and following Gary Webb around, according to Ricky Ross. How did Ricky take it when you described it to him? I know we are going to be able to play that on the air. But you weren’t at your office when I called you for this broadcast this morning. So, we are not going to be able to have that until tomorrow. But Kevin describe that discussion for us.

KB: He took it really bad. He thought of Gary as a God-send. And that this guy Gary put his life on the line to expose this story and that, you know, he just thought it was really depressing. It just really made him sad. He’s said a lot of the guys there in jail who are familiar with the story and a lot of people are going to be sad. You know, when he came out with that story, a lot of people in South Central had a wake-up call and it just rang so true to them. And the crazy parts of the story is that, like I said, Ricky wasn’t aware of all this until he got put in prison and Gary Webb came out to try to help him with his case. And that’s when all this evidence started becoming uncovered. It was just like with me working on the film of the drug wars – it’s like one thing leads to another. It just never ends. You talk to one person and they lead you to another. And he just kept following this chain. And the chain, just because he finished that one book, it just never stops.

My question to Ricky was you know the book is already out, everybody knows all this stuff, so why kill him now? Was this just a revenge thing? He said, “Absolutely not because Gary was still hot on the trail and he was never going to give up on this thing.”

AJ: He had just recently been vindicated. The establishment media had been trying to attack him with ham-fisted attacks but it wasn’t working. And he had just, as of late, had a lot of new evidence. He had been vindicated. That was starting to come out in the news. He was still on the trail. That had been reported on.

Now Cele Castillo is joining us right now and he may not be aware of this development. When you talked to Ricky Ross last night, for Cele, please repeat what Ricky told you Gary told him about people at his apartment and about being followed.

KB: He knew he was being following all the time and there were several instances where he would come home after working all day, late at night, and he would see a guy shimmy down – he had a drain pipe that went up to the balcony on the second floor apartment. And these guys, who were definitely not burglars, would come shimmying down the pole really fast and just disappear. And he was pretty confident that they were up there rummaging through documents looking at his computer.

AJ: What was the term he used to describe, I mean why did he think they weren’t just regular burglars? I believe he described it as if they were just so professional how they did it.

KB: Their professionalism. Well Ricky said that Gary said they were definitely government. That’s all he told me. So I’m not going to put words in his mouth. But he said that Gary had said that these were government people.

AJ: That was the term he used was definitely government people.

KB: Yes.

AJ: Unbelievable. Anything else he told you during this interview? I’ve been doing interviews before with you and Ricky, he only gets about fifteen minutes and then the prison cuts him off. It’s the only way we are allowed to interview him. They don’t really let the media in to interview him and you actually had to contact lawyers and started proceedings concerning that because they aren’t supposed to be able to do that.

KB: Another part of the story that I didn’t know about after Chico and Ricky had gotten arrested that time, there was some production company in New York that wanted to, that was trying to buy the rights to do a film about this. And the DEA raided their office and confiscated everything - some big film company in New York. That would definitely put an end to any thoughts that these guys were going to make a movie about this.

AJ: Yeah, this would blow Scar Face, which was based on some real characters, out of the water. This is a film that needs to be made. And so that’s another big piece of this – anything they can to try to stop it. And Kevin I know that you are out taking care of errands right now. I hope that you can try – let’s be honest. I called Kevin this morning. He’s out on the Green Belt – beautiful weather here, down by the river, walking his two dogs. But Kevin, do you think you can get back to your office and get that qued up by the end of the show?

KB: I’ll try to.

AJ: If you can’t it’s okay, we can..

KB: I don’t know how to play it over the phone though.

AJ: Well you can figure it out. I think you can plug it into – just try to figure it out. If you can’t we can get it over here and get it uploaded to the computer tonight or put it on the web in high bandwidth and we can download it and stream it that way. This needs to get out immediately for Gary.

Kevin I want to bring up Cele Castillo. Now Cele was the top DEA agent. He’s been all over the big national TV shows, foreign television. We’ve interviewed him many times. He’s come to Austin and showed the pictures of the CIA drug dealers. He shows us the connection to Latin America – how that coupled through to people like “Freeway” Ricky Ross and the direct connection of the CIA and these conduits to people like “Freeway” Ricky Ross and the LAPD protecting Ricky Ross and other top drug dealers.

Cele, was this a new development for you to learn that Kevin talked to “Freeway” Ricky and found out that he had told “Freeway” Ricky that he had men at his house?

CC: I’ve heard something to that effect but I wasn’t really sure what actually did happen. But my whole point in this issue is the fact that, you’ve got to remember one thing, nobody’s ever done a movie or a documentary on the Iran-Contra investigation, which involved the CIA involved in drug trafficking. Now, Gary Webb, at one point, pointed to the assets that were heavily involved and I myself pointed to actually the CIA officials who were actually participating in loading and unloading and refueling the planes….

AJ: You came to Austin and did a two-hour presentation and showed photos of them, documents, everything.

CC: Yeah, I’ve got another 100-set of slides I’m going to bring over to Kevin Booth so he can put them on. … And those slides do have the good, the bad and the ugly.

AJ: For people who don’t know who you are, in a nutshell, tell us what you did and why you went public. Describe what you saw in Latin America.

CC: You’ve got to remember one thing, I’m not an individual who comes from the left or from the right but I was reared as a very patriotic family, came from a very patriotic family and we all served our country. And when I joined the DEA I thought that by putting my life on the line that I would make a difference. But it was there in Central America, in my six years that I realized that we were the enemy. We were sleeping with the enemy, we were involved in drug trafficking and when I tried to expose the whole issue, I remember Randy Kapster (?), a CIA official saying to me – “Nobody is going to listen to you. We’ve been doing this for years and nobody is going to ever, ever stop us.”

And he was absolutely right. Nobody has stopped them from doing their black ops worldwide. [crosstalk] and I saw DEA’s participation in refueling some planes of cocaine into the US and never been arrested, never been seized or anything.
[ ..] They were heavily, definitely involved in drug ops.

AJ: And you had individuals tell you, “Hey buddy, you are never going to stop us.”

CC: That’s right. I had a CIA official by the name of Randy Kapster(?) who was down there for close to 7-8 years involved in covert operations. He was involved in training death squads and basically about anything you can do covertly in Central America, he was involved in it.

AJ: I have about an hour long video that’s full of clips of you on national television going over much of this in years past and they are unable to even challenge you. You got to be a little bit worried about your safety, sir.

CC: Recently, to be honest with you, I’ve had some [ ] follow me around. I could tell they’re government because of my experiences with how when you approach them, they turn their face and they are on their cellphone. I’ve been under surveillance for quite a while now..

AJ: But you’re not afraid. You were a highly decorated sniper in Vietnam.

CC: Exactly, my point is this, since Vietnam, I’ve been on borrowed time. So, I’ve made my peace with God, I will fight to the end and I will never, ever commit suicide.

AJ: I want to say that, too. I will never commit suicide. Kevin, you want to ?

KB: It’s a triple non-suicide pact. I will never commit suicide.

CC: We are in this for the long haul. We need to fight these people to the very end. And whatever we have available, with what little we have, we need to continue fighting or it will just get worse. And it’s going to get worse before it gets better – if it gets better.

AJ: Talking about Gary Webb, Cele, he’s dead, shotgun to the face. And they described his face, from the sources, and you got a call just two hours after they found him, you were notified. And that his face was basically unrecognizable. A shotgun doesn’t do that if it’s point-blank. A shotgun only does that from a few feet away – for the pattern to expand. People don’t normally commit suicide with a shotgun to the face. Can you comment on what you learned about this?

CC: I got a call from Michael Ruppert who got his information right away after this incident and he knew that a note had been left and so forth. And that he was planning to move that morning and had the movers coming in. And they found that note on the door. Allegedly, that saying to not come in, to call 911 and call an ambulance. Why on earth if you are going to commit suicide would you bring an ambulance? If you shoot yourself with a 12-guage shotgun ….

AJ: Well that sounds like a classic mafia activity blowing somebody’s face off.

CC: To be honest with you, I really think when I think about government people, I think about Felix Rodriguez and his goon squads, that’s been involved in all kinds of assassinations - be they foreign or domestic. You know, Felix and his group are very well documented as assassins.

AJ: Well it’s like Barry Seal. They just marched up and machine-gunned him

CC: Exactly, and they blamed a couple of Columbians for that but there are always people who are willing to take the fall for the Agency.

AJ: Unbelievable. Again Cele, just for the record, tell us about your position in the DEA.

CC: I was a senior agent in El Salvador. We had two agents covering the four countries in Central America. I was assigned to cover El Salvador.

AJ: Well to be clear, I had read in mainstream media reports that you were described as the senior DEA officer in Latin America, are those incorrect?

CC: No, those are correct. You know I spent my time in New York City and domestically but I was the senior agent and I was in charge of El Salvador. And, you know, we went out there and conducted investigations and...

AJ: And so you signed on, you signed on to fight drugs. When did you find out that it was the government controlling it?

CC: From the very git-go. When I got into Guatemala City and J Robert Stea(?) said to me, “You know, there are some funny things going on in El Salvador and just don’t step on anybody’s toes. Don’t report anything and everything comes to me” and so forth. And sure enough, my source of information was the guy who did all the flight plans for the Contra pilots that were heavily involved in drug trafficking. And it was very well documented – money being seized in the U.S. and drugs being seized in the U.S. that came out of Alipondo{?}. There is no doubt about that. And we ourselves, we re-fueled some of those planes with the anticipation that they would be seized in the U.S. but…

"the drug dealers profit from the crisis they create" they get tax dollars as prisons are privatized and they own the companies that get the contracts serving the prisons just as they created hitler and saddam and osama and then get gov contracts fighting them

Coroner: Gary Webb's Death Confirmed as Suicide

Editor and Publisher | December 15 2004

Comment: We're still treating this as very suspicious. They have flip-flopped AGAIN. First it was multiple gunshot wounds, then it was just one and now it's multiple again. The coroner is right we have seen multiple wounds before in suicides, but only in Arkansas. Would somebody stealing your motorcycle really drive you over the edge? Remember what 'Freeway' Ricky Ross said? "The last time I talked to Gary he was excited and happy about life. He was thriving and looking towards the future." We owe it to Gary to exhaust all possibilities, that's what he would have wanted being the meticulous researcher he was.

Related: Evidence Begins To Indicate Gary Webb Was Murdered

NEW YORK The death of investigative reporter Gary Webb has been confirmed as a suicide, according to a coroner's statement. There has been speculation that he may have met with foul play because he had received two gunshot wounds to the head, The Sacramento Bee reported Wednesday.

"The cause of death was determined to be self-inflicted gunshot wounds to the head," said a statement issued by the Sacramento County Coroner's Office. "Information and evidence gathered at the scene of death, including a handwritten note indicating an intention on the part of the decedent to take his own life, resulted in 'suicide' as the determined manner of death."

The statement was issued because of numerous calls to the Coroner's Office following a Bee report Sunday that Webb's death was caused by more than one wound. A former San Jose Mercury News reporter, Webb was found dead in his Carmichael, Calif., home Friday morning.

Webb gained national attention in the 1990s after writing a series of stories for the Mercury News linking the CIA to Nicaraguan Contras trying to overthrow the Sandinista government and to drug sales of crack cocaine flooding South Central Los Angeles in the 1980s.

The Mercury News and others later questioned the conclusions in Webb's reporting, and he left the San Jose newspaper in 1997 after being moved to a suburban bureau. The paper later published an apology.

Webb's ex-wife, Sue Bell, told the Bee Tuesday that Webb, 49, had been distraught for some time over his inability to get a job at another major newspaper. "The way he was acting it would be hard for me to believe it was anything but suicide," Bell said.

The Bee also reported that Webb had paid for his own cremation earlier in the year and had named Bell months ago as the beneficiary of his bank account. He had sold his house last week, because he could no longer afford the mortgage, and was upset that his motorcycle had been stolen last week.

He had apparently laid out his driver's license before taking his father's .38-caliber pistol, which he kept in his nightstand, to shoot himself.

Coroner Robert Lyons said his office had been swamped with calls. "It's unusual in a suicide case to have two shots," he said, "but it has been done in the past, and it is in fact a distinct possibility."

Webb Obit - 'Died Of Gunshot
WOUNDS To The Head'
From Charlene
Sacramento Bee

"Gary Webb, a prize-winning investigative journalist whose star-crossed career was capped with a controversial newspaper series linking the CIA to the crack cocaine epidemic in Los Angeles, died Friday of self-inflicted gunshot wounds, officials said.

Mr. Webb, 49, was found dead in his Carmichael home Friday morning of gunshot wounds to the head, the Sacramento County Coroner's Office said Saturday."

Note the plural "wounds". An actual suicide from a gunshot to the head wouldn't leave the victim in any state to pull the trigger a second time. Vince Foster, care to comment?

In the Sacto Bee (I posted it above somewhere), they referred to 'woundS'. I emailed the person in charge of obits, but haven't heard anything back yet. ?????

Posted by shylurker on December 13, 2004

I just heard from the obit guy. He said the coronor told them "he has multiple wounds". In other words, the coronor did NOT note the origin of the wounds.

GARY WEBB--A Giant Falls

GARY WEBB - PULITZER PRIZE WINNER, AUTHOR OF DARK ALLIANCE CIA-DRUG SERIES DEAD OF REPORTED SUICIDE

*
Press Accounts Fail to Mention His Vindication by CIA Inspector General Reports and Congressional Investigations

December 13, 2004 1400 PDT (FTW) - Gary Webb, 49, the Pulitzer Prize winning reporter from the San Jose Mercury News made America hold its breath in 1996 when he showed us proof of direct CIA involvement in drug trafficking. For a few months many of us had hope.

He reportedly died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head two days ago. His body was discovered at 8:20 AM Saturday as movers reportedly found a note on the door of his residence asking them not to enter but to call for paramedics.

Webb's August 1996 series Dark Alliance for the San Jose Mercury News pulled deep covers away from US covert operations and American denial about connections between the CIA and drugs. Gary left a bigger historical footprint than anyone who has ever touched the subject including among others, Peter Dale Scott, Alfred McCoy, Jonathan Kwitny and me.

His footprint was made possible in large part for two reasons. First, his reporting was meticulous and produced hard records that could not be effectively denied. Second, prominent African-American leaders like Jesse Jackson and representatives Maxine Waters and Juanita Millender-McDonald of Los Angeles and Compton respectively took up the torch lit by Gary and ran with it just before the 1996 presidential election which saw Bill Clinton win his second term just eight weeks after the stories broke. I was there at that time and it is not an understatement to say that much of this country was "up in arms".

Waters at one point vowed to make the CIA-drug connections, fully documented by Webb, her "life's work" if necessary.

In death the major press is beating him almost as ruthlessly as they did in real life. No part of the major press has acknowledged that Webb's work was subsequently vindicated by congressional investigations and two CIA Inspector General's reports released in 1997 and 1998. FTW did report on Webb's vindication and his legacy has - at least at the level of authentic journalism - not been lost.

The LA Times obituary, in all of its meanness and inaccuracy is here.

Of the six obituaries I have seen on him, the one from the L.A. Times was the most brutally Soviet in its attempt to crush out his memory as thoroughly as his work. Of course the Times would have to do that. It was in Los Angeles where Webb dug up and documented the direct connection between the CIA and cocaine smuggling/trafficking as crack cocaine ravaged this city in the 1980s and the Contra war decimated Central America.

The Times already had known of this for decades. Starting in 1979 I dealt extensively with the Times trying to report the same connections with regard to heroin smuggling by the CIA. Cocaine did not become a national epidemic until around 1980. By 1996 I had 17 bitter years of funneling hard evidence to the Times and watching as staff writer David Rosenzweig -- among others including Ron Soble and David Johnston (now of the New York Times) - kept taking the information, promising to do something, and then spiking the stories in exchange for promotions.

When Gary autographed his 1998 best-seller Dark Alliance to me he wrote: "To Mike. You were there before I was."

Richard Heinberg, author of The Party's Over and Powerdown observed after reading the Times' obituary, "The LA Times obit is disgusting. 'What's our attitude toward investigative journalism? Well, of course we try to discourage it wherever we can, but sometimes it happens anyway. Then we get especially nasty--we have to, naturally, to protect our reputation.'"

I always knew it was a fight to the death. I don't think he ever fully understood that. Retired DEA agent Cele Castillo who had reported on direct CIA drug involvement from Honduras and El Salvador in the 1980s and I both told him in 1996 what he was up against and what it might cost him.

GRATITUDE

There would be no FTW, or Crossing the Rubicon without Gary Webb. Catherine Austin Fitts and I would never have met had it not been for Gary Webb. Dick Gregory would not have made me his white son on the radio had it not been for Gary Webb. I would never have confronted John Deutch at Locke High had it not been for Gary Webb.

I myself might have committed suicide in 1996 - broke, divorced and having given up all hope of making people listen -- had it not been for Gary Webb. For some years now it has been the farthest thing from my mind.

I rediscovered my purpose and maybe Gary lost his. This is a tragedy of Shakespearean proportions.

KNOWN DETAILS

I called the Coroner shortly after the first flash came in here from Bay Area journalist and producer Kellia Ramares. His time of death was listed at 8:20 AM. Since it was Saturday, the homicide detectives would have been off and had to be paged. I estimate two hours (minimum) for them to get to the crime scene (unless a uniformed supervisor handled it). Add three hours minimum for crime scene, photos etc; that means he went to the Coroner's most likely around 1 PM. It could have been much later depending on response times on a Saturday before Christmas.

When I called the Sacramento Coroner's Office at 8:20 PM on Saturday I spoke with an unidentified female who stated that he had just been there since late that afternoon. I identified myself as a friend, ex-cop and journalist and she confirmed a single shot to the head. I wasn't sure it was our Gary Webb so I got his date of birth, hair and eye color. They matched. Gary was a good looking man with a moustache and I asked if that fit. She hesitated for quite a while before answering, "I can't tell."

This led me to suspect that the weapon used was a shotgun.

I then confirmed his death with the San Jose Mercury News and the L.A. Times. We will see if later facts don't mesh with what has been reported thus far.

I called the Times again at about 9:15 because I wanted to make sure someone said some good things about Gary. I dropped some names and got to the writer or the editor on the story who wouldn't ID himself. He said he'd have someone call me back to get my statement. No one ever called back and then the Times published their maliciously spiteful obituary just after midnight Sunday. It was clear to me that they wanted/needed to put a spin on his death.

Gary Webb deserved better than this and those of us who knew him and benefited from his work will see that he gets it.

I am going to the funeral and I will be asking questions in Sacramento. Given the disproportionate number of "suicides" of authors and journalists who have covered such stories, and the mainstream's horrendously dishonest coverage of such events, it is right to see if there are grounds to be cautiously suspicious of these accounts. But it is also right to avoid hysteria and unsupported conclusions until there are solid reasons to suspect foul play.

Gary would have wanted us all to do this by the numbers, patiently and thoroughly. That was his style. That was why he was so good.

When funeral arrangements are announced FTW will publish them and we encourage all of our subscribers to send flowers, write letters and show their thanks to this man who changed all of our lives forever.

It wouldn't hurt if you wanted to let the L.A. Times know what you think of their obituary.

Sleep well, Gary. Wherever men and women of honor gather together from now on, your name will be spoken with reverence, respect and gratitude.

Gary Webb..."Dark Alliance"...investigative reporter dead from "Suicide"...at 1st glance this looks VERY strange...

Gary Webb, 49, former MN reporter, author

INVESTIGATIVE JOURNALIST WROTE CONTROVERSIAL SERIES

By Jessica Portner

Mercury News

Gary Webb, a former Mercury News investigative reporter, author and legislative staffer who ignited a firestorm with his controversial stories, died Friday in an apparent suicide in his suburban Sacramento home. He was 49.

The Sacramento County coroner's office said that when A Better Moving Company arrived at Mr. Webb's Carmichael home at about 8:20 a.m. Friday, a worker discovered a note posted to the front door which read: ``Please do not enter. Call 911 and ask for an ambulance.''

Mr. Webb, an award-winning journalist, was found dead of a gunshot wound to the head, Sacramento County Deputy Coroner Bill Guillot said Saturday.

Mr. Webb's friends and colleagues described him as a devoted father and a funny, dogged reporter who was passionate about investigative journalism.

As a staff writer for the Mercury News from 1989 to 1997, he exposed freeway retrofitting problems in the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake and wrote stories about the Department of Motor Vehicles' computer software fiascos.

Mr. Webb was perhaps best known for sparking a national controversy with a 1996 story that contended supporters of a CIA-backed guerrilla army in Nicaragua helped trigger America's crack-cocaine epidemic in the 1980s. The ``Dark Alliance'' series in the Mercury News came under fire by other news organizations, and the paper's own investigation concluded the series did not meet its standards.

Mr. Webb resigned a year and a half after the series appeared in the paper. He then published his book, ``Dark Alliance: The CIA, the Contras and the Crack Cocaine Explosion.''

In the past few years, Mr. Webb worked in the California Assembly Speaker's Office of Member Services and for the Joint Legislative Audit Committee. The committee investigated charges that Oracle received a no-bid contract from Gov. Gray Davis. After being laid off from his legislative post last year, Mr. Webb was hired by the Sacramento News and Review, a weekly publication.

Tom Dresslar, a spokesman for state Attorney General Bill Lockyer who has known Mr. Webb for more than a decade, was distraught Saturday when he heard that his friend may have taken his own life.

``He had a fierce commitment to justice, truth and cared a lot about people who are forgotten and society tries to shove into the dark corners,'' Dresslar said. ``It's a big loss for me personally and a great loss for the journalism community.''

Services for Mr. Webb are pending.

no respect ...even from our 'allies'

i was watching this news show on tv hosted by this brother --derrick mc ginty -- i think his name was , and his guests were news writers from various papers .

the white woman from usa today , with a wink-like grin to the others , immediately turned the tables on the brother , starting the old unspoken game of "it" .

her comments about the bush new cabinet replacements all contained subtle double meanings , confirmed by her body language (the meaning of her subtle message also confirmed by the brother's reactions , and the noticible waver in his voice) , that mc ginty should not have the position he had .

the right wingnut oriented white male commentator chimed right in , followed immediately by the hispanic female newswoman and the jewish news guy.

they kept mc ginty on the defensive and on the ropes almost the entire program and you could tell that the white woman thought it all very humorous...towards the end of the show they all like a broken record spit that "america must support the troops" spiel but the unspoken message was clear that blacks and especially black males have no authority that whites can't take away...

the point being that these people had no problem in uniting in a not so hidden agenda in which mc ginty was being undermined by the guests on his own show .

he was at a visible disadvantage , not because he lacked skill , ability or information , but simply because his position as host was dependent upon the continuing patronage of the groups that his attackers belonged to ...groups that mc ginty will always be seen as an outsider to .

that the woman , the hispanic and the jew may have gotten the doors open for them to their own positions in part , due to affirmative action and equal opportunity reforms did not at the time seem to matter in the least...

the automatic speed with which they all recognized what was up , and smoothly jumped right in to the process of undercutting the brother was an indication that it was automatic s.o.p. for these various groups when dealing with blacks.

in his old book "black lies white lies" tony brown reminds us that group cohesion and overachievement effectively counteract racial discrimination ...i wholeheartedly agree ,but to that axiom i'd include , and build your own institutions so that you meet other groups from a position of strength instead of weakness .

i don't know much about derrick mc ginty but he was clearly articulate ,well informed , polished ,could easily handle being news program host , but his guests combined to undermine him in the eyes of the viewers and deny him respect...

on tv , that john mc laughlin guy often gets harassed and ridiculed over his positions on that "mc laughlin group" tv news show of his but i've never seen any of his guests indicate that he shouldn't be in his position as host...

unless we are singing , shaking our butts , telling jokes , or have a musical instrument, a ball ,or a gun in our hands ,blacks don't seem to "get no respect"

Blackwell certifies Bush as Ohio victor by 118,775 votes

By JAMES DREW
BLADE COLUMBUS BUREAU CHIEF

COLUMBUS - President Bush won re-election by carrying Ohio over Democrat Sen. John Kerry by 118,775 votes, according to official results that the state's chief elections officer certified yesterday.

At 3:35 p.m., Republican Secretary of State Ken Blackwell signed the official canvass of votes showing Mr. Bush with 50.82 percent and Mr. Kerry with 48.70 percent. Unofficial election night results showed Mr. Bush winning by 136,483 votes.

The final results were determined in a precinct-by-precinct audit by Ohio's 88 bipartisan county election boards that included the provisional ballots, overseas absentee ballots, and absentee ballots that arrived at election boards on Nov. 2.

A total of 92,672 ballots weren't counted because they had more than one or no vote for president, said Carlo LoParo, a spokesman for the secretary of state's office.

Of the 156,977 provisional ballots cast, 121,598 were valid. Election workers in most counties didn't tally those ballots separate from others in the official count, Mr. LoParo said.

"Elections are human endeavors and as such they are never perfect," said Mr. Blackwell, who was associate chairman of Mr. Bush's Ohio campaign. "But I can say with the fullest of confidence that this election in Ohio was perfectly inspiring. That's because at the center we had dedicated voters and professional election officials."

Mr. Kerry conceded on Nov. 3 after concluding that the count of provisional ballots wouldn't prevent Mr. Bush from winning Ohio's 20 electoral votes.

Mr. Blackwell certified the official Nov. 2 results four hours after the Democratic National Committee announced it will study "key election practices and issues" raised about the presidential election in Ohio.

"We are launching this comprehensive investigative study not to contest the results of the 2004 election, but again to help ensure that every eligible vote cast is truly counted," said DNC Chairman Terry McAuliffe. "This study will address the legitimate questions and concerns that have been raised in Ohio. Our goal is to understand and report back on what happened and why .●.●. We know we will not overturn the election, but we can't expect people to do a record turnout again if they are not confident in the system."

Mr. McAuliffe said he briefed Mr. Kerry on Sunday night about the study and the senator supported it. The study, which Mr. McAuliffe said should be finished by spring, 2005, will examine provisional ballots, long lines at polling places, and alleged voting machine irregularities. The results will be used to pursue any changes needed in state and federal law, he added.

Donna Brazile, who headed Al Gore's campaign in 2000 and now is chairman of the DNC's Voting Rights Institute, said Mr. Blackwell's directive restricted the number of provisional ballots that would be counted. He also helped suppress voting through a Sept. 9 directive that registration forms be on 80-pound text weight paper - and then revising the directive so that counties could accept copier paper that is 20 pounds, she said.

Mr. Blackwell said there were "some glitches in the election, but none of these glitches were of a conspiratorial nature and none of them would have overturned or changed the election results."

Bob Bennett, chairman of the Ohio Republican Party, said, "If the Democrats want to pay for a study to help them sleep at night, that's fine. Just don't expect anyone to believe it's credible.''

Some Democrats in Ohio and nationwide have questioned why the losing Green and Libertarian presidential candidates, not Mr. Kerry, are pushing for a recount in all 88 Ohio counties.

Also, the Rev. Jesse Jackson and an attorney representing the Alliance for Democracy are behind a suit to contest the results that show Mr. Bush as the victor.

Kerry campaign attorneys intervened last week in a lawsuit in which Delaware County failed to stop a recount because it would be too expensive.

Mr. Blackwell's comments at the certification ceremony didn't change the minds of those who have questioned Ohio's results.

"Florida 2000 has morphed into Ohio 2004," said Dan Hamburg, a former Democratic congressman from California who helped organize an anti-Blackwell protest. "We are seeing a lot of the same shenanigans; the same dirty tricks."

the color of crime...

voter spoilage in cuyahoga county , ohio

spoiled votes are thrown out as 'improper' votes (as in 'the hanging chads', 'dimpled chads' vote spoilage controversy in the florida 2000 presidential election) . political commentators and investigative journalists like greg palast have been saying that if examined by eyesight , the choice made by those voter whose ballots were thrown out as 'spoiled' , could be easily determined .

according to the above chart found at http://www.whatreallyhappened.com/2004votefraud_review.html, the colors show that the overwhelming majority of vote 'spoilage' in this election took place in african -american communities and traditionally democratic areas , effectively reducing the number of kerry votes in that state . there were 90,000 votes thrown out in ohio as 'spoiled'.

palast further contends that if those 90,000 spoiled votes were counted , all kerry would need is about 1/3 of the 155,000 provisional ballots cast in ohio (believed by palast to also be significantly democratic votes )in order to erase bush's 'insurrmountable' 136,000 vote lead and win ohio's electoral votes and the presidency

"do it again " says ukraine supreme court ...what would clarence say...this time?

thousands in kiev errupted into dancing and roaring cheers punctuated with fireworks and car horns when the ukranian supreme court called for new elections to take place december 26 .

after more than ten days of filling the streets and physically blocking government offices in what they called the "orange revolution" , supporters of presidential candidate viktor yushchenko had won a key battle in their demands that the vote of 2 weeks ago be thrown out because of massive vote fraud .

foreign observers of the election , including us senator richard lugar had said repeatedly that the ukranian elections were a sham stolen by prime minister viktor yanukovych --the hand picked sucessor of the incumbent president leonid kuchma .

kuchma, despite his original support for yanukovych , with his call for a new election , finally bowed to the will of the huge colorful demonstrations of crowds who for days had braved the subfreezing cold and snow to occupy the streets of the capital to block access to government offices .

the ukrainian supreme court's endorsement of the call for a new election was greeted as a victory by jubilant orange cloth draped crowds who had filled the kiev streets .

yushchenko quickly addressed his supporters and also demanded the resignation of the ukrainian board of elections which had certified the nov 21 "victory" of yanukovych in a contest now viewed by many in the world as fradulent.

**With the growing controversy and mounting evidence concerning the fraudlent nov 2 elections here in the usa --elections that the right wingnuts fought vehemently to keep international observers away from btw--- the question must again be asked, "WHAT'S WRONG WITH US OVER HERE?"

to this blogger's knowledge with the exception of jesse jackson , no other major democratic party figure has called for the ohio results to be overturned ...though jackson mentioned recently while addressing a meeting of citizens in that state that john kerry is in favor of an investigation into numerous charges voter fraud in the contested area .

Jackson also mentioned a newly unearthed irregularity in the ohio election ...a poorly funded african-american female running at the "bottom" of the democratic ticket for ohio state supreme court apparently received significantly more votes in many precincts accross the state , including in republican areas, than the "top" of the ticket --democratic presidential candidate john kerry .

political analysts point out that , though by itself not hard evidence of foul play , it is one more very highly unusually puzzling event in this collection of highly unusually puzzling events highlighting this 2004 election .

a party's local candidate whose name is physically located last-- at the "bottom" of the voting booth ticket receiving 200,000 more votes statewide than the party's national presidential candidate whose name is always located first--at the "top" of the list of names in the voting booth , is not impossible .

...But according to experts , it is highly improbable , and a possible rough gauge of how many votes were fraudlently changed by vote thieves.

according to political analysts it looks to their eyes as if the vote thieves only changed , or nullified presidential votes , but neglected to also change a similar number of votes for the democratic candidate running for state office whose name appeared last , at the "bottom" of the ticket .

For the candidate at the bottom of the party's ticket-- running for only a state office --to get more votes in a presidential election than the candidate on the same ticket running for the office of the national presidency , in ohio politics--- reportedly is unheard of .

in an interview following her release from prison , martha stewart angrily admonished members of the news media for "continuing to refer to me by my slave name " . Outside the facility she greeted her waiting supporters and family with a raised fist salute and a defiant shout of "power to the people".

she then was whisked away by bodyguards to an awaiting limo to attend a black tie $1000 a plate dinner in her honor at the Waldorf followed by a book signing at Trump Plaza for her newly published volume, "Sista Aminata Goldilocka: political prisoner of the american class wars" .

Ms Goldilocka later is scheduled to attend a private soiree held by friends and supporters at an undisclosed location in the Hamptons
