the Kurdish militias have been most successful in turning back Isis on the ground. according to the above map the Kurdish militias are  holding territory on both sides of the jarablus corridor which is Isis's vital route for soldiers and resupply arriving from turkey into Syria.  with a little help from the Us,  the Kurds could close the corridor and cut off Isis from its resupply routes into Syria from turkey. this could be the end of Isis,  but the Kurds are under consistent attack from Erdogan of turkey's military.it has been widely said that Erdogan has stepped up his attacks on the Kurdish militias and civilians in order to deflect the Kurds from fighting Isis.  recall that late journalist Serena shim reported she saw Turkish military vehicles transporting islamist fighters from turkey across the border into Syria. Serena shim said she began receiving death threats shortly after this report and feared for her life. she died only days later in a highly suspicious  automobile "accident."
