condie accuses syria of complicity in the recent tel aviv nightclub bombing that broke the cease fire and killed 5 israelis. condie says syria is an impediment to peace in the region while ignoring that israel has killed about 100 people in military actions in west bank and gaza SINCE the same cease fire was declared by the new palestinian leadership . condie also ignored the arrest and hand over to the Us of 100 former iraqi baathists hiding in syria including saddam's half brother -- the 6 of diamonds in that infamous card deck of the most wanted by the Us . also quickly forgotten by the bush administration was the "vital" help given by syrian intel against al qaeda in the war on terror as well as the help syria gave the daddy bush administration by sending troops to join the american-led coalition in the first gulf war against iraq , or that the syrian troops in lebanon helped STOP the civil war there that had raged for 15 years and had destroyed beruit-- "the switzerland of the middle east"--the banking capital of the region.
