censored in america--freedom of speech-- as long as you don't report Us crimes

http://www.dahrjamailiraq.com/multi_media/SBS-Dateline-Abu_Ghraib-tiny.html

in the wake of the controversy over cartoons degrading other people's religion , and while the Us and other westerners babble on to the rest of the world about how they revere freedom of speech ,an australian tv program did an expose on the abu ghraib photos and video that the Us public has NOT been allowed to see .

more photos of torture and murder at abu ghraib... the people responsible for this are evil--plain and simple ... america has lost any moral authority it may have ever had...

elmer cheney or dick fudd ?

is it elmer cheney or dick fudd ?

just so the vp doesn't feel that george dubya's multitudes of screwups get an unfair amount attention here at deskRat chronicles , we've included our basically "off the cuff" remarks made at a favorite message board as the cheney saga unfolded :

maybe ole cheney had a li'l taste of 'antifreeze' in him and his people stalled the networks in reporting it to give him some time to 'clear his head' ? i dunno , but it struck me as strange too when they said the national media didn't pick up the story till the next day

"It's incumbent upon the shooter to assess the situation and make sure it's a safe shot," said Mark Birkhauser, President-elect of the International Hunter Education Association and Hunter Education Coordinator in New Mexico. "Once you squeeze that trigger, you can't bring that shot back."

bingo ...it was years ago since my hunter's safety course but you never forget that YOU are responsible for holding your fire unless you have a clear target and nothing behind it .

if you have a shot and think you might miss --you don't take the shot . if you have a shot and there's something else in the line of fire or even NEAR the line of fire--you don't take the shot .

when with other hunters you walk abreast of each other and ideally each hunter has a partial arc as his zone--to make sure that they don't shoot each other if the animal moves from one hunters zone to the next.

who ever has the zone has the shot. for cheney to turn that far --behind him and shoot the guy walking up is a very dangerous move--amateurish and something expected of only someone inexperienced and unskilled .cheney should have held his fire and let that one get away .

if the guy got hit in his face and chest , the bird clearly was too close to the ground for cheney to simply wheel and fire without at least pausing --since he does not have eyes behind his head --to look and see if the line of fire was clear in back of his target, instead of just turning and blasting away ...

if he were going to take such an unwise shot , he should have raised the weapon barrel to safe position (UP towards the sky), turned , looked and then leveled his weapon back down and only fired when he knew that the target was clear ...

even the slightest glimpse of orange should have frozen cheney's trigger finger...

he never should have taken the shot and the shooter is responsible for whatever he or she hits .

the length of time the guards and secret service kept the local five-o away , made me think that maybe cheney had a few under his belt and needed time to sober up ?

on the news thay just said that doctors claim alcohol was not involved in the shooting , but declined to comment when asked if whittington's blood alcohol level was tested when he was admitted to the hospital ...

The same basic comment is echoed by Duane Harvey, President of the Wisconsin Hunter Education Instructors Association, who said if Whittington had made his presence known "that would have been a polite thing to do." But, he added, "it's still the fault upon the shooter to identify his target and what is beyond it."

"Secret Service spokesman Eric Zahren stated that about an hour after the shooting the local Secret Service office notified the Sheriffs' Department of the shooting and arrangements were made for an interview. Saturday night at least one deputy showed up at the ranch's front gate and asked to speak to Cheney but was turned away by the Secret Service, Zahren said. This sort of delaying tactic is indicative of drunk-driving hit and runs by rich kids allowing the necessary time to sober up, contact your attorney and get your story straight."

cool hand dick--

"The Veep refused to talk to a deputy sheriff when he came to the ranch at 8pm; not until 8am, 14 ½ hours after the accident did he make a statement… or long enough for the alcohol to burn off. When your rich powerful people (or just average Joes) get together for shooting or boating or golfing, they usually get plastered as they celebrate their mastery of the universe. MSNBC had a now-deleted quote from (Katherine )Armstrong “There may have been beer available during a picnic lunch that preceded the incident. There may be a beer or two in there," she said….” Cheney had two drunk driving arrests in Wyoming, in Nov. 62 and June 63. Brit Hume says Dick admits to having a beer at lunch. "I did ask the hospital spokeswoman Sunday whether there was any blood alcohol tests taken," said Times Caller reporter Katharyn Garcia in our interview, "and she laughed and said she was not aware. Today it was again asked in a press conference, and they said 'NO COMMENT' this time.
See Dick. See Dick drunk. See drunk Dick shoot Harry. See drunk Dick sorry + worry. See Dick call creepy Karl."

old manuscript of the blacks of west africa --modern day mali

in the late 1500s the literate and highly civilized peoples of west africa saw their federal government suddenly fall and the security of life that they had known vanish . the empire of songhai --larger than most of europe combined collapsed from internal contradictions and external attack as it's sources of hard currency and its technological centers--the core ingredients of the songhai commerce fell into the hands of invaders armed with new weapons powered by gunpowder .

as what could happen if the federal government in north america suddenly disappeared , the remaining states fell into dispute with each other and later warfare , as arms races began , with each state in what had once been a relatively orderly and united land , vying with each other for survival .

obtaining large amounts of the new firearms used by the foreign invaders to collapse the empire, was seen by some of the west african state as the only way available to protect themselves from the constant raids of the desert marauders and slave traders from the north who had helped destroy songhai.

appearing also at this time , but off the atlantic coast of africa in ships , were the foreign traders from western europe. traders who brought the needed firearms , but seemed obsessed with trading them for primarily one 'commodity'-- slaves--war captives --a by product from the now mushrooming conflicts between the various states of west africa. war captives to be traded for and transported across the atlantic and used in the americas as slaves --field hands in a nascent system of capitalism --a global 'free market' at its infancy -- known now as the 'triangular trade' --the atlantic slave trade that fed slavery and the voracious plantation system of the western hemisphere.

but before these west africans could be exploited successfully as a source of unpaid , lifelong labor , driven in the fields like beasts , they first had to be sufficiently , traumatized , terrorized , and brutalized . whipped , starved and beaten into obedience .

stripped of their culture and most of the memories of almost everything that had made them once a group of great and civilized peoples , these west africans lost much of who and what they were as they were forcibly mutated to fit their tormentor's image of who and what they should be .

much of what had , more than 1000 years before the beginnings of the present era, made the west africans great , was lost in this 'new' land ...or crushed and killed off in the enslaved africans by their money-hungry , sadistic tormentors --yet embers of that african brilliance lie dormant and never cease to smoulder.

profits from three centuries of this global economic system of slavery financed the western european and american industrial revolution and was the foundation for this modern era we live in today in 2006 ad .

an industrial revolution that left europe and her children fabulously wealthy and technologically powerful -- left the africans economically drained and in chaos-- a fragmented bleeding catastrophe --not even a semblance of their former glory --but some of us among the children of africa have learned what we once were and this knowledge inspires us to 'regain' ourselves and inspire our people into becoming what we know that we can once again be...a highly literate , highly civilized , technologically advanced and wealthy people...a force for justice and peace on this earth.

as professor john henrik clarke ,who has gone on to his rest among the ancestors, reminded us again and again , that the genius of the africans is in our ability to always rise phoenix-like from the ashes of destruction , and build greatness again ... he would continually say that these present generations of the children of africa are charged by our history with building the fourth golden age of african civilization.

we did it before ...we'll do it again...our ancestors are watching ...as well as our children...long live the fourth golden age...

"History is not everything, but it is a starting point. History is a clock that people use to tell their political and cultural time of day. It is a compass they use to find themselves on the map of human geography. It tells them where they are, but more importantly, what they must be."-- Dr. John Henrik Clarke

found at david corn.com --another downing st. memo ?

*david corn is the author of this book "THE Lies of George W Bush"

at his website we found the following which if verified, is pretty disgusting stuff about the Us and the Uk plotting over faking an incident as part of an excuse to provoke war with iraq ala 'gulf of tonkin incident in 1965' -- the phoney provocation used by president lyndon johnson to 'justify' american involvement in the vietnam war, but more than one person has raised the question of would an obvious knucklewalker like bush use the word 'internecine' ?

The Mother of All Downing Street Memos?

Channel 4 News in England is reporting on the existence of a January 31, 2003 memo that recorded a discussion between Bush and Blair, during which Bush raised the idea of orchestrating an incident in which Saddam would fire on UN reconnaissance planes and, thus, give Bush and Blair cause to attack Iraq.

Channel 4 has posted the below extracts of the memo:

President Bush to Tony Blair: "The US was thinking of flying U2 reconnaissance aircraft with fighter cover over Iraq, painted in UN colours. If Saddam fired on them, he would be in breach"

Bush: "It was also possible that a defector could be brought out who would give a public presentation about Saddam's WMD, and there was also a small possibility that Saddam would be assassinated."

Blair: "A second Security Council Resolution resolution would provide an insurance policy against the unexpected and international cover, including with the Arabs."

Bush: "The US would put its full weight behind efforts to get another resolution and would 'twist arms' and 'even threaten'. But he had to say that if ultimately we failed, military action would follow anyway.''

Blair responds that he is: "solidly with the President and ready to do whatever it took to disarm Saddam."

Bush told Blair he: "thought it unlikely that there would be internecine warfare between the different religious and ethnic groups."

To my thinking, this is a rather big deal. The president of the United States caught conspiring to create a modern-day version of the sinking of the Maine? How's that for an impeachable offense? I'm presuming the memo is legit. It was first obtained by British human rights lawyer Philippe Sands for a new version of his book, Lawless World. Sands is a friend of friends of mine. He is a trustworthy fellow, and I know that last year he did succeed in prying sensitive documents out of the British government concerning the legality--or illegality--of the invasion of Iraq. His sources were obviously British officials upset with the war. So my informed hunch is that this document is real. If so, how will the White House respond? Will members of the press corps at 1600 Pennsylvania press the point? This revelation--which is more shocking than anything in the Downing Street Memos--should be major news here. But will it?

ancestor ahmed baba-- courtesy of -- "who did they really sell into slavery?"

WHO DID THEY REALLY SELL INTO SLAVERY II?

"Ahmed Baba headed the world-famous Sankore University, in Timbuktu for thirty years. Timbuktu was considered by Europeans, as the city "arched in gold and clothed in education." Ahmed Baba is considered by historians as the greatest scholar, the most extraordinary intellect, and the most prolific writer of the sixteenth century. Under his administration, Sankore became the center of the world's scientific knowledge. Its structure consisted of faculties of law, medicine and surgery, letters, grammar, manufacturing, building, and other allied craft. High standards were required in the elementary and secondary schools in Songhai in order to meet the exacting admission requirements of the university. In 1591, Islamic and Christian forces attacked the Songhai Empire, which was larger than the continent of Europe, in order to capture Songhai's gold mines. They concentrated on the great cities of Gao, Jenne, and Timbuktu to neutralize the intellectual leadership of Songhai. Ahmed Baba and other leading intellectuals were carried north in chains by the Islamic Caliph al-Mansur to the Moroccan capital of Marrakesh and thrown into prison. In the Moslem and Christian destruction of Songhai, libraries were destroyed or stolen, including the one thousand-six-hundred-book library of Sankore. Of the forty books authored by Ahmed Baba, two are known to still be in existence. One is an autobiography and the other is entitled Al-Kabir. They are located in the Ahmed Baba Documentation Center in Timbuktu, established in 1971. During the invasion, the infrastructure and the social fabric of Songhai were destroyed. Basil Davidson says, "The invasion cost Songhai and its descendants its place in history . . . robbing that great empire of its vitality. . . ." Europeans now descended on this wealthy, huge empire with unmatched cruelty. Songhai's sad end is described in Tarikh es Sudan by eyewitness Muhammad es Sadi. While the Europeans did not find the yellow gold, they found Black gold, the enslavement of the Songhai prisoners-of-war. They took the Songhai doctors and dentists, lawyers and lecturers, professors and princes, students and surveyors, musicians and mayors and marched them to the seas to the waiting ships to be brought to America in chains. Even greater an injustice than that, they ripped the Black pages out of the books of history so that the Songhai descendants in America would not know about their great ancestors such as Ahmed Baba."

* note that religion did not prevent either europeans or arabs from attacking and enslaving black africans and destroying our civilizations--when it comes to us neither of them fully practice the religion they preach, both the arabs and the europeans have been a plague on africa and her children--A HARD LESSON of OUR HISTORY

freedman's journal cover 1828

i found this drawing of freedman ibrahim abdul-rahman sori at a website titled "WHO DID THEY REALLY SELL INTO SLAVERY" and liked the obvious character evident in the gentleman's portrait. apparently after regaining his freedom he returned to africa...

someone suggested that we resemble each other...i'm flattered at the compliment of course , but i couldn't really say if it's so... regardless , i like the pic so much i considered "borrowing" it if the good gentleman wouldn't mind...to use as the image in my own blog profile--in part because i consider myself a "freedman" of sorts...
