elmer cheney or dick fudd ?

is it elmer cheney or dick fudd ?

just so the vp doesn't feel that george dubya's multitudes of screwups get an unfair amount attention here at deskRat chronicles , we've included our basically "off the cuff" remarks made at a favorite message board as the cheney saga unfolded :

maybe ole cheney had a li'l taste of 'antifreeze' in him and his people stalled the networks in reporting it to give him some time to 'clear his head' ? i dunno , but it struck me as strange too when they said the national media didn't pick up the story till the next day

"It's incumbent upon the shooter to assess the situation and make sure it's a safe shot," said Mark Birkhauser, President-elect of the International Hunter Education Association and Hunter Education Coordinator in New Mexico. "Once you squeeze that trigger, you can't bring that shot back."

bingo ...it was years ago since my hunter's safety course but you never forget that YOU are responsible for holding your fire unless you have a clear target and nothing behind it .

if you have a shot and think you might miss --you don't take the shot . if you have a shot and there's something else in the line of fire or even NEAR the line of fire--you don't take the shot .

when with other hunters you walk abreast of each other and ideally each hunter has a partial arc as his zone--to make sure that they don't shoot each other if the animal moves from one hunters zone to the next.

who ever has the zone has the shot. for cheney to turn that far --behind him and shoot the guy walking up is a very dangerous move--amateurish and something expected of only someone inexperienced and unskilled .cheney should have held his fire and let that one get away .

if the guy got hit in his face and chest , the bird clearly was too close to the ground for cheney to simply wheel and fire without at least pausing --since he does not have eyes behind his head --to look and see if the line of fire was clear in back of his target, instead of just turning and blasting away ...

if he were going to take such an unwise shot , he should have raised the weapon barrel to safe position (UP towards the sky), turned , looked and then leveled his weapon back down and only fired when he knew that the target was clear ...

even the slightest glimpse of orange should have frozen cheney's trigger finger...

he never should have taken the shot and the shooter is responsible for whatever he or she hits .

the length of time the guards and secret service kept the local five-o away , made me think that maybe cheney had a few under his belt and needed time to sober up ?

on the news thay just said that doctors claim alcohol was not involved in the shooting , but declined to comment when asked if whittington's blood alcohol level was tested when he was admitted to the hospital ...

The same basic comment is echoed by Duane Harvey, President of the Wisconsin Hunter Education Instructors Association, who said if Whittington had made his presence known "that would have been a polite thing to do." But, he added, "it's still the fault upon the shooter to identify his target and what is beyond it."

"Secret Service spokesman Eric Zahren stated that about an hour after the shooting the local Secret Service office notified the Sheriffs' Department of the shooting and arrangements were made for an interview. Saturday night at least one deputy showed up at the ranch's front gate and asked to speak to Cheney but was turned away by the Secret Service, Zahren said. This sort of delaying tactic is indicative of drunk-driving hit and runs by rich kids allowing the necessary time to sober up, contact your attorney and get your story straight."

cool hand dick--

"The Veep refused to talk to a deputy sheriff when he came to the ranch at 8pm; not until 8am, 14 ½ hours after the accident did he make a statement… or long enough for the alcohol to burn off. When your rich powerful people (or just average Joes) get together for shooting or boating or golfing, they usually get plastered as they celebrate their mastery of the universe. MSNBC had a now-deleted quote from (Katherine )Armstrong “There may have been beer available during a picnic lunch that preceded the incident. There may be a beer or two in there," she said….” Cheney had two drunk driving arrests in Wyoming, in Nov. 62 and June 63. Brit Hume says Dick admits to having a beer at lunch. "I did ask the hospital spokeswoman Sunday whether there was any blood alcohol tests taken," said Times Caller reporter Katharyn Garcia in our interview, "and she laughed and said she was not aware. Today it was again asked in a press conference, and they said 'NO COMMENT' this time.
See Dick. See Dick drunk. See drunk Dick shoot Harry. See drunk Dick sorry + worry. See Dick call creepy Karl."

"oh my god ! run for your lives !"

yup ...2 guys with drinking problems and driving while intoxicated arrests occupying the number one and two positions of executive governmental power and one of the two-- according to his brother neil's ex-wife sharon --with a nose candy problem--in fact she claims he regularly did lines of blow at camp david during his daddy's administration... dubya claims he kicked alcohol and drugs cold turkey but some would say he's just a "dry drunk" and the underlying emotional issues that drove him to substance abuse in the first place are still unresolved ...that is IF he can remember anything from those days -- thank you for your comments carmi
