Sooo...how did it happen ? how did the world's ONLY remaining superpower see its unchallenged global strength , dominance and influence unravel so quickly --like a two dollar suit ?

After five years of bombing and war and even with a "li'l help" from america's "friends" in NATO , even bill frist has to admit that the resurgent taliban in afghanistan cannot be militarliy defeated and a political settlement which must include taliban will eventually have to made by america if fighting is to end.

in iraq --a total , undeniable mess has been made of the country-- one mistake after another --from the decision to invade --a decision made well before bush took office --to the non-existent weapons of mass destruction--to the redundant air attacks on a defenseless population killing hundreds of thousands and practically obliterating an already debilitated iraqi infrastructure--to the reliance on the likes of bank-swindler ahmed chalabi and leg-breaking goon ayad allawi as the chief sources of america's on-the-ground pre and post-war intelligence in country--to the total failure to protect 6,000 years of iraq's national antiquities and cultural treasures--to the disbanding of iraqi army who could have been reorganized under new guidance into a national peacekeeping force to maintain order-- symbolizing national unity , instead of being redirected into the sectarian militias and into the insurgency-- the elimination from office , simply because they were baathists , of 50,000 seasoned iraqi bureaucrats and governmental officials who had the experience and know-how to keep the country running--the undeniable american "good old boy" corporate cronyism and blatant theft and widespread pocketing of billions of public "dinars" in the awarding of contracts to "rebuild" iraq while millions of able-bodied iraqis were left unemployed and the country in ruins--the total failure to get electricity and water flowing to the people and garbage and sewage undealt with after three years--the rewriting of iraq's laws to permit the foreign ownership of iraqi oil and forcing by "law" iraq's farmers to buy seed from monsanto corporation , making "illegal" the eight thousand year old practice of saving seeds gleaned from this year's harvest to plant as next year's crop--the horrendous abu ghraib torture scandals and public photos of humiliation of the iraqi nation -- the total breakdown in public safety and the killing and terrorizing of thousands of iraqi scientists , professors and intellectuals , eliminating , or stampeding out of the country tens of thousands more skilled professionals --the doctors, lawyers, engineers, architects , scientists and entrepreneurs--the cream of iraq's educated and middle classes --the focussing on the "al qaeda in iraq" zarqawi rouse as the source of the insurgency rather than admitting the real cause of the uprising being iraqi patriotism and anger at americans for brutalizing their people , disrespecting iraqi elders , disrespecting iraqi women and disrespecting iraqi customs , smashing down , like fascists in the middle of the night , the doors to iraqi homes and places of worship , hauling iraqis off for questioning in hoods and handcuffs chillingly reminiscent for iraqis of brutal israeli treatment of palestinians ,the shooting of peaceful , unarmed demonstrators by trigger-happy , panic-stricken Us troops , the occupying of the iraqis' country in order to steal their oil -- all of this contributing to set the stage for the deathsquads and never-ending sectarian blood-letting as the country spirals helplessly downward into break up , fragmentation of the nation and civil war, leaving iraqis feeling sentimental for the "good old days under saddam"

while iraq plummets over the precipice and into a balkanizing chaos , nextdoor in occupied palestine , america openly supports and assists in the economic strangulation by israel of a democratically elected hamas government and economic strangulation of the palestinian people , the building of a security wall by israel in the westbank that conveniently leaves much more of the land and most of the aquifers and water sources on the isreali side of the wall and an open war by israel against the citizens of gaza .

--hi-tech state-of-the-art israeli artillery , tank , jet and helicopter gunship attacks against palestinians armed with only rifles and homemade rockets and rudimentary explosives that LED to the capture of ONE israeli soldier and an american fundraising tour by captured soldier's family members raising millions of dollars more --so israel can continue doing more of what it has been doing to millions more .

...as it did in lebanon . the land of cedars , the paris of the middle east ,once part of ancient phonecia, where the israelis , with america's obvious assist , used its american-provided military might to systematically bomb a modern nation back into pre-industrial , third world refugee status --all supposedly over the capture of two israeli soldiers .

and all of this despite the fact that such a destructively effective campaign would have had to have been planned months if not at least a year in advance--with of course american satellite generated map imagery of lebanese targets and pre-ordered shipments of Us "smart bombs" conveniently timed to arrive just as the israeli airforce had used up its stockpiles on hand .

add to that the power point presentation briefing reportedly given by israelis to cheney's staff and the pentagon boys last spring , before hostilities commenced, along with the constant american threats and saber rattling designed to drum up war fever against syria and iran and the convenient and very well-planned sophisticatedly executed assassinations of lebanese political figures opposed to planned american military and naval bases in lebanon--giving the Us and Nato an execellent mediterranean window for further striking into the middle east--and add to that some VERY unexpected resiliency from a highly skilled , well-supplied and surprisingly tenacious and efficient hezbollah and we have prelude to a widening war in the middle east --gone badly awry...

but not to be discouraged , we saw from the Us over the summer and beginning of fall , the quiet deployment to the persian gulf region and iran's straits of hormuz region of significant "super power" naval forces AFTER , of course, highly specialized training and war game exercises were reported to have recently taken place involving these same forces in the pacific--on their way to the middle east.

now as everything seemed quietly in motion for a buildup to a new shakeup in the middle east --suspiciously , on three sides around syria and iran--in afghanistan to the north and east , in the straits of hormuz and persian gulf to the south and east and to the west in the buildup of Nato ships and forces on their way to "peacekeeping" duty in lebanon --surprise surprise--old kim il sung's boy--little kim jung il--the third hub in beelzeDUB's "axis of evil"--raises his fuzzy little head and announces to the world--there's a new member in the "nuke'em" club...

now , how can beelzeDUB and his boys make a case for war with syria and iran based on "the war on terror" , on iran and syria's support for hezbollah and iran's nuclear energy program--a program that hasn't been proven by extensive Un's international atomic energy agency inspections to be anything other than what iran has said it was all along-- a program to produce civilian energy and NOT atomic weapons--pardon the pun , but How the hell can beelzeDUB and his minions make a case for war with iran over a "possible" threat SOMEDAY , SOMEWHERE DOWN THE LINE , MAYBE , of nuclear weapons in iran , when North korea and kim jung il , after years of testing his ballistic missiles over the sea of japan --scaring the crap out of the japanese-- not only admits he has nukes, but just detonated one underground--demonstrating himself to clearly be a REAL danger ,and not a "potential" one like iran may "one day" be in 5 to 10 years ?

and dammit --korea has no oil --has little of anything of value to speak of--thus no record profits to be made by the big OIL-garchs , behind the scenes , running the Us government.

well maybe there's profit to be stolen in the "reconstruction" of north korea --like there was in iraq ?

dammit again --there's literally nothing in north korea to "reconstruct"--not much profit in that...who tha hell wants to fight north korea ? --they ain't got spit--there's no money in a war with them--plus they've got nukes and the missiles to deliver them with --war is only "fun and games" when it's a one-sided slaughter .

what's a war profiteer/ merchant of death /big daddy warbucks to do ?

is it possible that old kim may have just unwittingly thrown a big monkey wrench into an american pre-election attack on iran ?

an over extended , over spent , no longer superpower american paper tiger , may have in its afghanistan , iraq and lebanon campaigns , already reached for all to see , the exposed limits of its "super" power...

well beelzeDUB and his minions can always claim that there's some mysterious , nebulous connection between iran's International Atomic Energy Agency inspected civilian nuclear energy program and north korea's atomic weapon's and ballistic missile program--- like a magician , non sequitously holding up north korea's nuke detonation as proof of iran's threat to the world .

well whata-yah know ? talk about a 'conspiracy theory' ? ...beelzeDUB wins the cigar in that category.

according to the news reports--like a magician trying to pull recalcitrant rabbit outta his hat ... it looks like dub just did try , outta nothing but thin air , to make the korean nuke connection to iran and syria...sorta ...
