after the news of the conviction of jose padilla , i read some of the federal documents in the case .

the title of the documents apparently used as evidence in this " trial " , is the "department of defense summary of interrogations" of jose padilla .

they say things like "senior Al qaeda detainee # 2 says " Abdullah al Espani , or abdullah al mujahidi (purported aliases for padilla) approached him in a training camp that was "affiliated with Al Qaeda " about making a nuclear bomb based on plans he saw on the internet ... blah blah blah .

now if this padilla guy thought he could actually build a nuclear warhead--not a "dirty bomb" , but a full fledged nuke-- from things he found on the internet--what does that say about him ? that is , if he actually said something that far out there in college fratboy wackoland .

then they say that FBI found in Pakistan a box containing 100 Al Qaeda membership applications and among those applications the arabic name used by padilla with the same date of birth as him stating that he was from the Us , traveled to the same countries Padilla had been , and stated the applicant was fluent in english , spanish and arabic .

but the common thread in all this damming , "slamdunk" evidence is that Padilla was arrested and held in solitary confinement for 3 years , undergoing deliberate sensory deprivation (aka torture) and interrogations --without the presence of any lawyer --denied any human contact --denied his rights under the constitution --based on information obtained also through torture of unnamed informants .

how can there be a trial ? there is no evidence against him that was lawfully gathered . there are no charges against him that can be substantiated --except by information gained by torture .

the "al qaeda membership application " that doesn't use the name , " Jose Padilla " , but is supposedly his and supposedly has his fingerprints on it --found in a box with 100 other "Al qaeda applications " ---???

next the government will tell us that they have discovered the late John Gotti's "mafia membership application ."

Also there are in the government documents references to one member of Al Qaeda making phone calls concerning padilla to another high ranking member in 2002 --after the world trade center attacks --after the Us invasion of Afghanistan --and LONG after Al Qaeda leadership --according to the government's own statements stopped using cellphones and telephones in general in fear of the signals being tracked and their location revealed --the same way that the Us helped track and kill fugitive cocaine kingpin Pablo Escobar and the leader of the resistance to the Russians in Chechnya --both men tracked and killed because of Us technical help in locating them while using cellphones .


despite the insistence of the government and its informants and documents --the government's case miserably fails to even meet the minimun requirements of a farce --because plain and simple --the government has no case .

the bush administration stripped an american citizen of his rights , held him in solitary confinement under sensory deprivation conditions and interrogated him for three years while under sensational charges of plotting to make "a dirty bomb" and charges of plotting to blow up apartment buildings--charges which the government quietly dropped and then finally brought padilla to trial for conspiracy to aid terrorists --again obscure ambiguous charges .

The government brought padilla to trial , introduced the dubious "al qaeda membership application " supposedly somehow found by fbi in pakistan --and got a jury to convict padilla .

psychiatrists examining padilla say his personality seriously unraveled under the combination of years solitary confinement , sensory deprivation and interrogation.


Basically he is gone mentally .

his mind is damaged and he suffers a severe form of paranoia . Padilla reportedly says to his lawyers and psychiatrists off-base things like he "has to" talk to george bush because "only george bush" can "protect" him --a clear indication of something washed into his mind by his captors through repeated interrogations .

if this can be done by the bush administration to Jose Padilla -a US citizen held on charges that were a bad joke at best and then stripped of all human rights ,and all constitutional rights and all legal guarantees at the whims , lies and fantasies of the criminal bush administration -- if a citizen can be confined for years and driven into mental illness , who would be next ?

The scariest part is that Padilla's mind has been twisted to where thinks bush--his tormentor will actually protect him .
